I Heart Sharpies

Sharpie

Everyone loves a sharpie and enjoys permanently writing on everything.

Put to other uses….Minify…
The sharpie is pretty perfect, so finding other uses for it is difficult. What don’t I use it for? I’ve always thought that having eyeliner tattooed on is pretty crazy (I’m not a huge fan of tattoos anyway). As a happy medium, perhaps people can start using the very thin sharpie to put on less permanent, yet still long-lasting, eye liner. I’m sure it would blend better anyway. Plus it comes in multiple colors. Some people like to get creative with their makeup; with a sharpie, they can get that long-lasting effect with the versatility! This would also decrease the number of sharpies in the drawer. It saves space and money.

Adapt…..
My dad is a doctor, and I used to love getting drug rep freebies. Own of my favorite things was a pen that was actually multiple pens in one. The pen was fat enough to include several tubes of ink. Instead of having one spring and button on the bottom, there were 3-5. This is an excellent idea for the sharpie people. I like to use a variety of sharpie colors when I’m working, so it would be nice to have them all in one. I think this would only be feasible for the think sharpies, but they could perhaps have two of the fatter markers in one. They already have the ones with the tips on both ends.

Modify….
It would be fun to make sharpies smell nice; however, I do have mixed feelings about smelly markers. They seem to encourage bad habits. The word unsharpie (see below under Reverse…) makes me think of a blunt tip which makes me think of stamp markers. What if sharpies came in the form of stamp tips? We could permanently place hearts, smiles, checks, etc. on everything! Scarpbookers would go crazy.

Magnify…
Students have a really hard time closing markers all of the way. Instead of making the area of the plastic that the lid usually covers the same color as the rest of the marker, the entire space or a little ring at the bottom could be colored. If the color is showing, the marker is not closed all of the way. Students would have a visual to know that they need to click it closed.

Rearrange…
I like the mini sharpies that are attached to the key ring so they can hang from things; however, I don’t like that it hangs right side up. I would like for the ring to be on the bottom, so that it could hang upside down. It would be easier to loose the lid that way, but they might not dry out as easily.

Reverse...
As much as I love sharpies, I would also love an unsharpie. When combined with sharpie ink, an unsharpie would cause a chemical reaction that would make sharpie ink invisible. This solves the problem of a parent accidentally writing on your SMART board with a sharpie.

Combine…
I think a mini sharpie should be included in every bag of plastic cups. Keeping track of your cup is a very difficult task when at a party, and people always go straight for the sharpie. If one were available at purchase, it would save time and who would turn down an opportunity to buy a sharpie?

You should try and market (and patent) your reverse and combine ideas. I too am a huge sharpie fan, and think these are great! Did you really have a parent write on your SMART board??
