"Needed today is a generous dollop of creativity in the human sphere--in particular, in the way we human beings relate to one another personally, carry out our work, and fulfill our obligations as citizens" (Gardner, 2008, p. 101).

I don't know that creativity is necessarily what is needed to help people relate to one another; in fact, I think it's quite the contrary. Understanding of differences is what is needed, but isn't that what creativity is...someting different. People are afraid of different ways of thinking, different ways of doing, and different ways of being all the way aroud. People have creative potential within them which manifests itself in different ways. Due to squelchers or a general lifestyle choice, some creativity is stifled; however, for the same reasons, others exhibit their creativity in extreme ways. I'm not saying creativity is bad or that it always separates people; however, I do think it helps define the kind of person you are and the kinds of people you spend time with. I think creative thinking is necesarry in finding a solution to poor relationships, but it's difficult to overlook the fact that it's also part of the problem.
